Charity Poker has become profitable for more than just your local charities. Entrepreneurs and players are cashing in on these charity events on a regular basis. The State of Michigan allows a non-profit organization to get a license (Millionaires Party License) for a maximum of four days a week and four times each year. There may be a limit for each charity but the players and business owners are cashing in year around. The rules have become more player friendly. In the beginning there was a limit of $500 that could be awarded to any one winner and check raising was not allowed. These rules have been changed and it has allowed the more skilled players to win more attractive amounts at the tables. There are four charity locations in Grand Rapids, one in Muskegon and one in Lansing, so there are plenty of places to play. Players have found the games to include several beginner players. If you are patient and let those players donk away their chips (hopefully to your premium hands) the competition toward the end of the tournaments is fairly good. Since these are “charity tournaments” some players go there expecting to donate – so it may as well be to you !! There was a charity event in Grand Rapids that had a $245 qualifier to the main event that had 63 sets of buns in their seats with a total prize pool of $15,000. !! We are partnering with another poker web site in Michigan. They specialize in local charity poker tournaments in Michigan – both helping charities get more people to come to their tournaments & helping players find tournaments that are going on. The web site is www.umichiganpoker.com Michelle is the site owner – she is very helpful if you need anything in the charity poker area feel free to contact her. We also have some charity info on our web site under the “tournaments tab”. Have Fun & Good Luck !!
